SMW6 & Alkhaleej Cable

A submarine cable project connecting Bahrain to the 21,700 km SMW6 submarine cable system, which spans from Singapore to France (Marseille) and passes through Egypt via terrestrial routes. This initiative greatly enhances Bahrain’s global connectivity by reducing network hops and improving performance through direct links to major international hubs. Additionally, the Al Khaleej cable will connect Bahrain to GCC countries, further strengthening regional communication and optimizing connectivity options and performance. Together, these projects establish Bahrain as a critical connectivity hub, linking it seamlessly to Asia, Africa, and Europe.
